Alain Buet
After completing his Conservatoire studies in Caen and Paris, Alain Buet was inspired by his work with the great American voice teacher Richard Miller to embark on a career as soloist and voice teacher, which has been further enriched by stimulating encounters with the conductors Robert Weddle, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Hervé Niquet, William Christie, Jacques Grimbert, Dominique Debart, Laurence Equilbey, David Stern, Arie van Beek, Jacques Mercier, Martin Gester… and the instrumentalists Patrick Cohen-Akenine, Laurent Stewart, Zhu Xiao Mei, Emmanuel Strosser, Alexandre Tharaud, Marie-José Delvincour, Claire Désert...
His clear, warm-toned voice and his taste for adventure have enabled him to build up a very wide repertoire, from the 16th century to the present day. He is regularly invited to sing in the major international festivals: Beaune, Epau, La Chaise Dieu, Les Promenades Musicales en Pays d’Auge, Les folles journées de Nantes, Septembre Musical de l’Orne, Versailles (Chapelle Royale and Opéra), Fez, Innsbruck, Istanbul, Cremona, Parma, Beethovenfest in Bonn, Leipzig, Bach festival in Lausanne, Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), …
His operatic career has flourished thanks to Jean-Claude Malgoire : Haendel’s “Agrippina” (Lesbos, in 2003), Mozart’s “Nozze di Figaro” (Almaviva in 2004), Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” (Simone, in 2004). Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s ”David et Jonathas” (Saül, in 2004) with les Arts Florissants under William Christie, (tour in Latin America), at the Théâtre du Châtelet Mozart’s “Bastien et Bastienne” (Colas, in 2005) under Jean-Claude Malgoire. Mozart’s “Zaïde” (Allazim, 2006-2007 with l’Orchestre de Basse-Normandie under Dominique Debart, Landi’s “Il Sant’Alessio” (Eufemiano, international tour in 2007-2008 with Les Arts Florissants under William Christie.
