Claudia Hoffmann
Claudia Hoffmann studied modern violin in Freiburg in Breisgau. After an Orchestra and Teaching Diploma she began studying Baroque violin firstly with Michi Gaigg at the conservatoire nationale de region in Strasbourg, then at Koninklijik Conservatorion in Den Haag with Sigiswald Kuijken and Ryo Terakado (concert degree 1997) as well as at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Chiara Banchini.
She participated in courses with J.E. Gardiner, Fabio Biondi, Ingrid Seifert and Reinhard Goebel and played in the Barockorchester Stuttgart at ‘la stagione’, Frankfurt; Barockorchester Bremen; Orchestra of the Baroque as well as with La Petite Band, amongst others. She has worked together with the Madrigalchor Freiburg, the Kammerchor Zuercher Unterland, the Knabenkantorei Basel and the Ensemble Vocale, Munich.
Radio and CD recordings with La Beata Olaanda and as performer in various ensembles as well as concerts in free improvisation complement her work.
In addition Claudia Hoffmann has worked with various folk groups and was, as guest artist from ‘Naked Feet’, double prizewinner at the Irish Kilkenny Pan Celtic Folk Festival in 2003.
She was tutor of the Masterclass at the Barockvioline Festival de Gruyeres 2006.
